Exiting Calm
There are two ways to exit Calm:
-
Using the
button on the main menu saves your data and all the changes you have made to local settings since opening Calm (the main menu can be reached by clicking the
button in the tool bar).
- Using the 'X' in the top right corner of the screen saves your data but not changes to your local settings made during the current session of Calm. This can allow you to make one-off changes to the Overview and then quit without having to manually revert to the default Overview settings, for example.
Please note: The 'X' is only safe to use in Calm version 7 and newer. If you are on an older version of Calm, do NOT use 'X' to close Calm, as it could potentially endanger your data.
These local settings apply for any user on the same computer (on a client/server or hosted setup of Calm) or for every user (on a standalone setup of Calm). They include:
Fields displayed on the Overview.
Whether the Overview is open (displayed) or closed (hidden).
Whether a record type is classified as being for Archives, Libraries, or Museums.
Fields and field order in search dialogue boxes.
Fields and field order in the admin search dialogue boxes.
Parameters that can be set from the Administration Menu.
Options dialogue boxes accessible from each database's menu bar, such as the View Options dialogue box.
