The National Galleries of Scotland Archive and Special Collections comprise over 100 collection holdings. All collections are listed here. However, some collections may not be fully catalogued at item level.

To find a complete list of the archive holdings using the Advanced Search option, select Collection from the dropdown menu in the Level field.

To narrow your search to either the Scottish National Portrait Gallery or Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art holdings, use the Advanced Search drop down list in the Repository search field.

To retrieve the complete listing of Dada & Surrealist book holdings at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, type “dsurlibi” in the Any Text field.

Personal names are entered as “Surname: First name” so try searching using this format as well as “First name Surname” to increase potential results.
