Description1 x handwritten letter with comments of a personal nature, dated 8 August 1991, from Lubna, Boot Singh Walla to Eduardo Paolozzi, Dovehouse Street, London, 4p + env. + newsclipping, 1p. Letter includes 3 coloured drawings: drawing on page 1 is of figure in shalwar kameez & hijab, with arrows to this and labels 'eyes lowered at all times' and 'Rat' (to drawing of same at foot of figure). Drawing on page 3 is of clay cooking stove with arrows to this and labels 'pots on top of this rim' and 'wood into here'. Drawing on reverse of this page is of a cow with arrow to this and label 'The cow whose calf died'. Newsclipping has a coloured drawing of a head of a cockerel. Letter describes her stay in Pakistan with relatives, including trip to the bazaar to buy clothes and provides a detailed account of life and conditions encountered. Letter ends with greetings to Paolozzi, students & technicians at the college & gives date of her return to London.
