Time Fields

Time fields in Calm include the fields StartTime, ChaseTime and DoneTime which are used in the Enquiries database. The information in these fields will normally be recorded in the following format e.g. 15:44:01 (HH:MM:SS).

You may enter the current time by placing the cursor in the field and pressing the Insert key on your keyboard. Please note that the format in which the time appears is taken from your own system time, therefore it is the Regional Settings section in Windows Control Panel that specifies whether or not leading zeros are to be displayed in the hour e.g. 9:02 or 09:02. If you change time settings in the Windows Control Panel, Calm will automatically change the format of times in time fields in existing records.

If you enter times in text fields, they will be sorted alphabetically e.g. 10:00 will come before 8:30 unless you select the option to sort text as numbers - on the Sort Hit List box. Therefore you need to use time field types to sort correctly or if you want to search by ranges of times e.g. StartTime>8:30

Please note that Calm does not validate times; but non-existent times e.g. 10:80:02 are removed.
