The Dean and Canons of Windsor ( D & C ) owned lands in Maidenhead, Berkshire, within the parishes of Bray and Cookham and these were probably acquired in the 14th century at the same time as lands in Bray. These are described in leases from the D & C as 13 acres of arable land in Maidenhead field in Cookham, one acre of arable land in Maidenhead field in Bray, together with one yard of meadow land in Dune mead, plus a garden and orchard and another tenement.
