Object Entry and Loan In

The Entry and Loans In Database is used to record preliminary information about objects as they enter the museum.

There are two museum record types available in the the Museum Entry and Loans In Database: the Entry record type and the Loans In record type.

The Entry and Loans In record types are based on the standard forms used by most museums. Entry records are used to document information about objects entering the museum and Loans In records are used to document objects entering the museum on loan.

The Entry and Loans In record types may be customised using the Admin program.

The individuals or institutions who give or loan items to the museum may be documented in depositor records in the Depositors database. Depositor records may be linked to both Entry and Loans In records. The method of linking can express the relationship an individual has with an object; i.e. whether they are the depositor, the lender or the owner of the object.

When an object from an Entry record is catalogued the entry record can be "added" to the catalogue database. A new catalogue record or records can be created, and automatically linked to the Entry record. A single Entry record may be linked to several catalogue records.
