Locations and Movement

The locations database greatly simplifies the task of keeping track of which storage locations are available and the items that are kept in them. In the database itself, you can organise locations hierarchically, allowing you to see at a glance how each storage location relates to the others (for example, individual shelves that are in a storage room that are in a building).

In the catalogue database, you can link records to both their normal and current locations, making connections between objects and locations clear.

Calm also automates the task of keeping a history of an object’s previous locations. When an object is moved to a different location (by adding a location to, or changing the location of a catalogue record), Calm will automatically create a record of the move and store it in the movement database.
