Events authority file

The Events authority file database enables you to record information about events that are significant in the history of your collection. These might be events of national and international significance such as battles or wars, or local events such as the opening of a station, or an annual festival.

Event records are linked to relevant catalogue records to help index your collection. Archives and Local Studies Libraries link catalogue records to authority files using the Authorities button in the side button strip and Museums use the Associated button in the side button strip.

The Events menu (shown below) is accessed from the Authorities Menu.
