Exiting Calm
There are two ways to exit Calm; the usual way is via the button,
this saves your data and all your local settings, alternatively use the 'X' in the
top right corner of the screen, this saves your data but not changes to your
local settings made during that session of Calm.
Using the 'X' to close down Calm
may potentially be of use to people on client-server setups who have to
rearrange their overview fields for one-off specific reasons and do not want to
retain the settings. It may also be useful to those on hosted systems, where
there is effectively only one client and where the settings of the last person
to exit the database via the button are retained.
This applies to Calm
version 7 onwards, please note we do NOT recommend using the 'X' to
close down earlier versions of Calm.
The local settings involved are: overview fields, overview state i.e. open (displayed) or closed (hidden), search dialogue boxes (including the field order), admin search dialogue boxes (including the field order), options on the Administration/Parameters menu, pop-up dialogue boxes (such as Options from the View menu).
To exit Calm and save your local settings, click the
button in the button strip followed by the
button on the menu, or the
button in the tool bar, to navigate back to the main menu, then click the
button at the
bottom of the main menu.
