Accessions

The accessions database is the equivalent of a manual accession register. It is designed to allow you to record preliminary information about something new coming into your collection. It also enables you to link this record to information about the donor or depositor of the material, held in the depositors database.

The archive record type used in the accessions database is called Accession. The default record type or template is designed to conform with ISAD (g). However the template may be customised using the Admin program.

Once an accession record is completed it may be "added" to the catalogue database to create a new catalogue record which will be linked to the accession record. The data recorded in the accession records may also be used to create customised reports such as an accession register or receipts for depositors.
