Security
Security for Calm is set and updated in Admin; the Security option is under the File drop-down menu. It is separate from your network security which is administered by your I.T. department.
The Admin program allows the system administrator to set up a security system to protect the data being held in Calm. Use the security option to assign permissions for your users which allow them different levels of access to the Calm databases. For example, a work experience student may be given the right to edit existing records in the Accessions database, but may not be allowed to create or delete records. Under the security system each user belongs to one group. Each group has defined security attributes and roles for every Calm database.
It is important to use the Security option in an informed way, as selecting certain combinations of settings may prevent you from accessing Calm.
Use the Security option to set the type of authentication for your Calm users on the Security tab, add your users with the Users tab and determine their permissions for Calm databases using the Groups tab.
