Adding and Removing Fields
Fields may be added to, or removed from, records by using either the Admin program to customise the record type or by using the Field drop down menu in Calm to add or delete fields from the current record only. Every database has a pool of extra fields that may be added to records. For example in the catalogue database all Archive ISAD(G) fields and all Museum SPECTRUM standard fields are available to be added into catalogue templates. There are also a number of user definable fields of various types which can be added to templates and customised by you.
To add a field into the current record:
- Click the Field drop down menu
- Click Insert
- The Choose Field dialogue box appears (as shown); select the field you wish to insert
- Click OK
- The chosen field will be inserted into your record
The fields have a preset default order, when fields are inserted they will appear in this order in your record. The order in which the fields appear can be changed using the Field Order/Group function in the Admin program.
