EXE Folder

The place where all executable files are stored.

Standalone Configuration

Suggested location: 'C:\DScribe\bin\peer'.
Contains:
 

DScribe.EXE The main front-end executable
DSAdmin.EXE Database Administrator program
Accuisr5.DLL Image display library
Idle.DLL Indexing engine
Utility.DLL Utility routines
Tcl82.dll * Tcl library
cw3215.dll * Helper library for above
DSiv.EXE * Image viewer (optional)
Gear32pd.dll * Image library (optional)

*These files can be stored in the \Windows\System or \Windows\System32 folders (depending on your operating system).

Client/Server Configuration: Client

Suggested location: 'C:DScribe\bin\client'.
Contains:
 

DScribe.EXE The main front-end executable
Accuisr5.DLL Image display library
Ic.DLL Network interface stub: must be renamed to 'Idle.DLL'
Utility.DLL Utility routines
Tcl82.dll * Tcl library
cw3215.dll * Helper library for above
DSiv.EXE * Image viewer (optional)
Gear32pd.dll * Image library (optional)

Client/Server Configuration: Server

Suggested location: 'C:\DScribe\bin\server'.

Client/Server Configuration: Either Client or Server or both

DSAdmin.EXE        Database Administrator program

You run the client EXEs on the server, just keep them in separate folders.

The client EXEs always understand '.' as meaning the 'current machine', so for example, a DSAdmin command line on the server might contain:

C:\DScribe\bin\client\DSAdmin.exe /server
