Viewing Records
To browse through the currently selected records one by one, use the Next Record
and
Previous Record
buttons
which are found in the tool bar. The tool bar will tell you where you are in the
list of currently selected records. For example, if you are viewing the 1st
record and the total number of records is 12, tool bar would show:
To move to a particular record, click
on the
View
drop down menu
in the menu bar, then click on the Goto option and enter the record number.
To move immediately to the first record in the hit list press the
tool
bar button.
To go to the last record in the hit list press the
tool
bar button.
When you retrieve a large hit list as a result of a search it can sometimes be difficult to scan through the records
one by one, and for this reason there is an overview facility included
with Calm.
When you click on the
button
on the tool bar, or select the Overview Option from the View drop
down menu, the top half of the screen
will display a list of all records found (selected fields only) and the bottom
half of the screen will display the currently highlighted record. See the
Overview page in the Searching section
for further information on using the overview and for information on stacking, ordering and marking hit lists.
